Young Enterprise Company Programme Speed Networking Event

This week brought another exciting opportunity following my podcast appearance earlier in the week. A former colleague at Young Enterprise invited me to attend a speed networking event for the Company Programme. The day was put together by Young Enterprise, Dundee Business School, Abertay University, and Strathclyde Inspire. The Company Programme aims to equip high school students in S5 and S6 with entrepreneurial skills by providing a practical opportunity to design and market a product, then selling this product to the public.

I was invited along to speak to the students in a speed networking events where I got to learn about the awesome products that students have developed. Importantly, I got to hear from students about the skills that they developed from working in their teams on the Company Programme. I had the opportunity to share how I apply these skills into my work, and have a conversation about how students can take their experience on the Company Programme into employment. Overall, this was a hugely rewarding experience to share my experience and have insightful conversations with bright, entrepreneurial students.
